The Olympic Regatta had four events: M1X, M2-, M4- and M8+. Including the United Kingdom, seven
countries were represented, the others being Canada, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Holland and Hungary.
Only one foreign crew reached a final: The M8+ from Belgium. All four events were won by Great Britain.

The 40-year-old Blackstaffe was twice the age of his opponent in the final Alexander McCulloch (GBR) who had won the Diamond Sculls at Henley Royal Regatta several weeks before the Olympic regatta. |
