The New London Boat Race or Yale-Harvard Boat Race is an annual contest between M8+ crews of Harvard University and Yale University. First rowed in 1852, it is America's oldest athletic competition. |
The coloured drawing shows an incident during the 1890 race when the Yale stroke broke his oar and dove over- board. Yale still won the race. |
