No reference to the Olympic Games
can be found in this program but it
is in fact the program of the
first Olympic rowing regatta that
took place from Aug. 25th-27th
1900 at Paris on the Seine river.
The rubber stamp in the top margin
of the program shows that it once
belonged to Alexander Gleichmann
von Oven who was the cox of the
Germania RC Hamburg crew (4th
place in the M8+ final)
Two pairs of brothers competed in the M8+ final: Ian & David Turner (USA) won
the gold medal and Harald & Thorstein Krakenes (NOR) won the bronze medal.
