The oldest rowing postmark known
Lucerne - regarded as the best regatta
course in the world - had the honour to
stage the first World Rowing Championships
in 1962. In fact this was only a new name
as European championships had been open
for nations from all continents if their
federation was affiliated to FISA.
This postcard bears the signature of Rudolf
Fickeisen (GER) who won the M4+ gold medal
The traditional 7 events appear for the first time
on the program for the European Championships
